Houdini Dog

So mom and Ryder went out one day for about an hour and when mom came home she stopped dead in her tracks and looked very confused...and then started hysterically laughing? What...? I don't get whats so funny.

(For those of you who aren't getting it...the tray is the bottom of my crate that I lay on..but don't think I'm going to tell you the secret to my trick!)

War Eagle!

So althought this was a bad season for us and we lost our coach on top of it all (which I think stinks!)...I still love my team.

Indy's light eyes

What a handsome boy I am....look into my eyes. They're a lighter shade than most ridgebacks, almost golden colored.

Ryder graduates!

So mom has been taking me to agility class for the last 7 weeks and it has been pretty fun, although I am a bit of a scaredy-cat and wouldn't do certain things at first. I DEFINITELY wasn't going into that scary red dark wrinkly tunnel!!!

But, after awhile, it started not to seem so bad. So after mom and my coach, Beth, both crawled halfway into the tunnel and had some really good yummy treats, I decided to give it a try.
HOW EASY! I really don't know why mom was so excited..it only took me 7 weeks to even attempt it, whats the big deal?

Don't I look like a pro?

Look..I'll even do it again. Whatever I need to do for some yummy liver. Lets see you try and look this good Indy boy!

I'm such a rock star!

BREAKING NEWS!!!

Indiana Jones is the tallest dog!

Indiana Jones, the Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy of about 8 1/2 months, is now the tallest dog, sources say. Standing approximately 28 1/2 inches to the top of his back, and 35 inches to the top of his head when standing straight, the handsome "Indy" now finds himself the tallest dog in the house, and among most of his playmates.
"I enjoyed it while it lasted" said playmate Rocco Vachino, a German Shepard. "I knew he was gonna be taller than me sooner or later. I just hope he doesn't get me back for all those times I chewed on his whole head"
Indy still has along way to grow, so he will end up pretty big, but he hopes to be known as a gentle giant, not a goliath.

We spend our late Autumn evenings laying around the house, usually in the den where there's carpet and dog beds. Ryder is just so soft and cuddly that she always makes a good pillow.

Lately it has been getting extra chilly, so we toss and turn and groan until mom or dad puts a blanket over us, then we snuggle up for a serious nap.

With the first snow today, Ryder was reminder of her very first snow...

Best sleeping position ever!

We were snuggled up in the living room and dad was exhausted from riding his bike all afternoon. He laid himself down right on top of us and before you knew it, we were all fast asleep. Good thing mom was on the ball and got the camera out ;)

More exercise, in the snow!

Soooo comfortable to rest my head on Ryder....she's soft.

This is us hanging around in the kitchen. The floor is so cold on our bellies that we only like to lay here. Do you blame us?

What one of us does, the other always wants to do too.

to the beach!

We took a trip to the beach this past weekend - I think it was mom and dad's anniversary or something...whatever, we weren't paying attention.

The beach was awesome! We had fun trotting down the beach with dad.

And were mesmerized by the waves.

Shortly after that we discovered how much fun it is wrestling in the sand!

Then we started to dig holes. Boy o boy, Indy was digging so fast! We dug tons of holes, but they didn't lead anywhere.

Sometimes we'd team up and dig together to get a really big hole going.

But mostly I just watched while Indy dug holes.

I think that he thought they led somewhere, cause he kept trying to go into the hole before it was finished....

"Indy! Where do you think you are going?"

All it got him in the end was a very sandy nose.

We can't wait to go to the beach again!!!

Best Friends

I know sometimes I can be annoying, but my big sister is the best. I love her more than food...almost.

Jolly Ball!!

So mom bought us a jolly ball. We originally had a soccer ball, but it took no time at all to deflate that thing..so along came the jolly ball. Its an actual dog toy and won't deflate and it has a handle which makes it much easier to carry.

I love it, but Indy tends to hog it a lot.

He also has to go and show off being 'air dog' when mom or dad throws it.

Of course..I am the older and faster one, so sometimes I give him a run for his money. Come catch me slow poke!

It is a lot of fun though..check him out in action :)

Farewell Monkey Friend

Indy used to be cute and innocent and was very gentle with his toys. His all time favorite was Monkey, the stuffed animal that came with him the day he was brought home.

And then he grew up and today..well, you can see for yourself. Maybe Monkey was mouthing off to him? Goodbye Monkey. We will miss you.

Tomato madness

Well summer is coming to a close, but mom's grape tomato plants have been going crazy. We had never really noticed them before, but then she made the mistake of letting us hang outside while we she was collecting some off the plant. Then it suddenly dawned on us....FREEEEE BUFFET!!
Luckily there are so many, she just thinks its hysterical watching us pick them off the plant.

Of course I'm the true tomato lover, Indy just thinks he supposed to eat them because mom's picking them off the plant and I like them so much. He tries to eat them, but just spits them out and plays with them instead.

Indy's New Trick

So mom and dad get such a kick out of this, they HAD to take a video. I call it self preservation...if it doesn't hit the ground, Ryder has no chance to get it. I'm no dummy.

Rainy Days

We've had some rainy days lately with all of these hurricanes coming up the coast. But in between we've had some fun. Like this past weekend and today! Last weekend dad went out of town with Uncle Tony and so Rocco got to come over for a sleep over! What fun!
I think Ryder got a little jealous, because I wanted to play with Rocco so badly I kept pushing her out of the way. You can see her barking at us, because she wanted some attention!

Today we got to go out and go hiking with Rocco and Uncle Tony. Lots or running around and playing.

Then afterwards..its NAP TIME!

Shout out to our pal Rocco!

Indy and I have seriously neglected an important friend from our posts up to now. Our good bud Rocco. Hes got big teeth and sounds like he is tearing us apart when he comes over to play (which I am sure the neighbors are wondering what in the world is going on over there!) and has a bit of the 'only child' syndrome with not sharing his toys...but deep down we know he loves us. Plus mom and dad love him, because when he finally goes home, we just pass out and Indy doesn't have the energy to try and steal socks or eat the kitchen table.

Hes actually SO cool, that he was recently featured on one of the famous Duff (Ace of Cakes) cakes from Charm City Cakes, http://charmcitycakes.com/, when his owners got married this month. He is a little camera shy, so this is the only photo we actually have of him..I will make sure to put up more later.

Dog days of Summer

Indy and I have our parents in a pretty good routine. We get up and get to go potty and have some breakfast and then we get to run around the yard

and play fight

and get treats for good recall

and then just look cute

Then we usually get to go to work with mom and dad. Indy went with mom today, he was working hard.

its a hard life.
